I have had bouts of block in the past as we all do and I found a great way to get over an inability to write was to get another poet to work with you. I was in regular contact with a poet from Glasgow for a long period of time and her and I used to simply send each other a single word every couple of days and we had to create on peice around said word it worked really well and I ended up with some great poems that I never would have written otherwise give it a go folks it really works (well did for me).

Seamus, there is a writing exercise that I have taken part in at times, where a similar premise is used. One person posts ten words to the poetry worskshop board and the rest of the members write a poem including all ten in any order. I have produced some real garbage like this, but have had one or two poems come out of it that I have been well proud of.
Might be useful. Want ten words?
